Langley Flying School Awards and Bursaries Recipients

 

Charles Blackburn

Charles Blackburn is a graduate of Langley Flying School’s Private Pilot, and in 2003 won the British Columbia Aviation Council’s Anne and Rudi Bauer Memorial Bursary for top Private Pilot Student. 

 

Philip Craig

 

Philip Craig is a graduate of Langley Flying School’s Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, and Instructor Rating Programs. In 2004, Philip was awarded the British Columbia Aviation Council’s Jack Ross Memorial Bursary for top Commercial Pilot Student. Philip is now a Beech 1900 Pilot with Pacific Coastal Airlines

 

Marney Godkin

 

Marney Godkin is a graduate of Langley Flying School’s Private Pilot, and in 2004 won the British Columbia Aviation Council’s Anne and Rudi Bauer Memorial Bursary for top Private Pilot Student. 

 

Luke Howard

 

Luke Howard is a graduate of Langley Flying School’s Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, and Flight Instructor Rating Programs. In 2002, Luke was awarded the British Columbia Aviation Council’s Jack Ross Memorial Bursary for top Commercial Pilot. Luke currently works as a Captain with Harbour Air and flies the de Havilland Twin Otter.

 

Seung Ha Lee

 

Seung Ha Lee is a graduate of Langley Flying School’s Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, Multi-engine Class Rating, and Instrument Rating Programs. Seung Ha won in 2003 the British Columbia Aviation Council’s Jack Ross Memorial Bursary for top Commercial Pilot. Seung Ha now flies with Korean Air.

 

Tim Sawatsky

 

Tim Sawatsky is a graduate of Langley Flying School’s Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, Multi-engine Class Rating, and Instrument Rating Programs. In 2002, Tim won the British Columbia Aviation Council’s Anne and Rudi Bauer Memorial Bursary for top Private Pilot Student. Tim currently flies with Central Mountain Air on the Beechcraft 1900D and is based in Vancouver.

 

Cory Thickett

 

In 2005, Cory Thickett was awarded the British Columbia Aviation Council’s Al Michaud Memorial Bursary for top Commercial Pilot Student. He is employed as the Airport Manager for Fort Langley Airport, and is currently enrolled in Langley Flying School’s Commercial Pilot Program.

 

Sean Walker

Sean Walker was awarded the Langley Flying School’s Samuel Ruiz Private Pilot Award in 2006 for excellence demonstrated in Transport Canada’s Private Pilot Licence Written Examination.  Sean current flies a homebuilt out of Delta Airpark.

 

 

Peter Waddington

Peter Waddington is a graduate of Langley Flying School’s Instructor Rating and Multi-engine Class Rating Programs, and in 2008 received Langley Flying School’s Ed Huggett Instrument Pilot Award for excellence demonstrated in Transport Canada’s Instrument Rating Written Examination.  Peter is now the Chief Pilot with AC Airways.

 

Alan March

Alan March was awarded the Langley Flying School’s Samuel Ruiz Private Pilot Award in 2008 for excellence demonstrated in Transport Canada’s Private Pilot Licence Written Examination. 

 

 

Raman Srivastava

Raman Srivastava is a graduate of Langley Flying School’s Commercial Pilot and Multi-engine Class Rating, and Instrument Rating Programs and in 2008 received Langley Flying School’s Ed Huggett Instrument Pilot Award for excellence demonstrated in the score he received on Transport Canada’s Instrument Rating Written Examination. 

 

 

Sagar Canakapalli

Sagar Canakapalli originates from Delhi, India, and is a progressive graduate of Langley Flying School's Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, Multi-engine Class Rating, and Instrument Rating Programs. He achieved Langley Flying School's Ed Huggett Instrument Pilot Award for achieving excellence on the Transport Canada Instrument Rating Written Examination. Sagar is now a pilot with Kingfisher Airlines

 

 

Ville (Will) Tuokkola

Will Tuokkola was awarded the Langley Flying School’s Samuel Ruiz Private Pilot Award in 2009 for excellence demonstrated in Transport Canada’s Private Pilot Licence Written Examination. 

 

 

Kevin Mickelby

Kevin Mickelby was awarded the Langley Flying School’s Samuel Ruiz Private Pilot Award in 2009 for excellence demonstrated in Transport Canada’s Private Pilot Licence Written Examination.

Dean Bicknell

Dean Bicknell was awarded the Langley Flying School’s Samuel Ruiz Private Pilot Award in 2010 for excellence demonstrated in Transport Canada’s Private Pilot Licence Written Examination. 

 

 

Darren Kroeker

Darren Kroeker was awarded the Langley Flying School’s Samuel Ruiz Private Pilot Award in 2010 for excellence demonstrated in Transport Canada’s Private Pilot Licence Written Examination.  Darren is a graduate of the Langley Flying School Commercial Pilot and Multi-engine Class Rating Programs, and is currently enrolled in the Langley Flying School Instrument Rating and Instructor Rating Programs.

 

 

 

Darren Kroeker was awarded the 2010 British Columbia Aviation Council Anne and Rudi Bauer Memorial Scholarship recognizing superior flying skills, excellence in airmanship, and the demonstration of commitment to professional pilot training. Darren is a graduate of the Langley Flying School Commercial Pilot and Multi-engine Class Rating Programs, and is currently enrolled in the Langley Flying School Instrument Rating and Instructor Rating Programs.

 

 

Laura Halliday

Laura Halliday was awarded the Langley Flying School’s Samuel Ruiz Private Pilot Award in 2010 for excellence demonstrated in Transport Canada’s Private Pilot Licence Written Examination.
